Most beautiful: Access Virus Ti2 Polar:
I do not own ugly instruments, at least not to my taste
I always buy a synth also because of it’s look and feel.

You guys make me insecure. I have a System1m and love playing it, but yeah the green is annoying and ugly.
Mmmm, orangey!! (some people don’t like the way these look, but I do)

The Digi boxes are one of the best looking pieces of industrial design that I’ve seen. And then things like the JDXI or the small shiny Modal synths I find very off putting. Also the small uno boxes look horrific
Agree on the Digis. I actually like the Modal synths. However, the Argon8X looks a little funny with all the controls on one side. I get why they did it, but it would look so good if they spaced them out, and outlined the sections (like Sequential does). The Modal 00x synths look amazing though IMO. Especially the 008.
Another one I think looks amazing (if a little evil
)

I was talking about the small modal - sculpt and the other one, made from plastic. The big ones look ok
Ah, yes. I think those are interesting little items, but I agree. I’m not into the aesthetic at all.
I have to say, the new black MKii’s (A4,AR) are some of the most beautiful pieces of gear I have ever seen. They make me want to sell everything and start over with just those two boxes.
Ugliest: IK Multimedia Uno Synth. If Walmart manufactured their own synth it would look like that.
Most Beautiful: MakeNoise Black and Gold shared system. It looks like an instrument from an otherworldly advanced civilization.
Pristine! Very nice
Quick question, is Roland the Razer of the synth world? Or have I not seen the worst of it?
It takes a lot for me to call a synth ugly. There are some designs that I’m not into, but it’s really hard for me not to find SOMETHING about even the least attractive synths that sparks some kind of interest. Some evoke a time period like the Korg DW-8000 for example. Not the prettiest synth, but it takes you right to the time period it was made. There are some archaic beasts of synths from further back as well, that might not be stunning… maybe the Syncussion SY-1? Not pretty, but has this almost “feel” to its appearance. Not sure what it is. Or on the more impressive if not pretty side the Waveterm or Buchla 700?

Ugly: OP-Z looks like Lego to me
But this is the nicest ipad sleeve ever:
I love all my AIRA children equally.
I have an ugly looking bicycle but can’t really think of ugly music gear that I have. That bike though has been so reliable
