What am I missing in Electronic Music?

Some of the artists have already got a mention, but entire Ninja Tune family is worth spending time with.

(Highlights, IMO: Ash Koosha, The Bug, Cinematic Orchestra, DJ Food, Faulty DL, Funky Porchini, Little Dragon, Martin, Octo Octa, Onyx Collective, PVA, Roots Manuva, Thundercat)

You might be interested in some progressive breaks, which fused d’n’b with lower tempo bigbeat and house/techno.

Y3K and Y4K first few mixes were awesome:

Anoyo - Tim Hecker

My favourite (semi) electronic album of the last couple of years.

I don’t usually like these crossover type projects, but Hecker re-worked some recordings he made with a Japanese gagaku ensemble, adding some more synths and electronics to them, and created something truly beautiful.

I’ve got probably close to 40 years of electronic music stored in my brain, for someone getting into it now it’s nigh on impossible to go back on everything and to remember everything, so much amazing music, but going through the artists on this thread is a good start and would take you months and months

Here’s a few I didn’t notice mentioned that I think are really great

Not strictly speaking electronic, but this was very important to me early on

Wow, I totally forgot about Boxcutter. Loved that album and I’ve not heard it in time. Was it called Chiral? Either way he is a sick producer.

There’s some pretty sick stuff today. But it doesn’t feel as inspired as early/mid 90s

“Chiral”'s one track. It’s on the album “Glyphic”. Maybe there was an e.p. too, but I tend to collect LPs. Fabulous stuff. The third one “Arecebo Message” is quite ravey, and his releases since have slowed somewhat and leaned more on four to the floor than the earlier ones. Still good and very interesting, but hadn’t held my attention as much.

Based on OP’s list I’d say -

Neotropic - 15 Levels of Magninfication
Push Button Objects - A Day in a Life
Dr. Who Dat? - Beat Jouney
Hudson Mohawke - Butter
Rustie - Glass Swords
ediT - Crying Over Prose For No Reason
Team Doyobi - Cryptoburners
Mike & Rich - Expert Knob twiddlers

And about 12 million more probably.

I have a vivid memory of a school trip to Prague in 93’ where some lads from another school had taken over the hotel d.j. Booth and we’re cranking out these nosebleed compilations, they did a grand job of clearing the bar area but inspired me to go out and buy some “Frankfurt Hardnoise”.
My classmates insisted I keep a distance whilst playing it on my Aiwa speakers…
