Weird sound browsing

I have a sound loaded into track 1. I open track 2 and pick a new sound. I go back to check the bank and slot number of track 1, and when I double tap the track button, it opens the menu on the sound that was on track 2. How can I see easily the bank and slot number of a given track?

Have you pressed ‘YES’ after selectingTrack 1’s sound?

You mean after I’ve loaded it? Yes. I see the name of the patch in the lcd when I’m on an editing page, but not the number.

The way I see this, what is shown when you double tap a track is the current position in Sound browser.
Iirc it’s reinitalized when powering off.

You can’t. Once a sound is loaded into a Track it’s connection to the +Drive is lost.

Holding down Track 1 will show the name of the last sound loaded into the Kit (as mentioned it is now 100% divorced from the +Drive)

Gotcha. Guess I need to start using the sound pool and find all my sounds. That’s bs. We need a way to see bank and slot number on the +drive

So I just loaded all my sounds from my project into the soundpool and expected that when I double-clicked on a track it would take me directly to the correct sound in the soundpool. It does not. It exhibits the exact same behavior as if it were in the plus drive. The sound list still goes back to the last sound you chose, note the sound on the track itself. This is ridiculous. There needs to be away to see the NUMBER on the sound so that we can easily find it. Being able to see the sound name by holding the track number is great, but not if you have dozens of sounds and have to sort through them all.

It’s simply going to be much simpler for you to grasp the fact stated twice above. The track sound is part of a Kit and is 100% divorced from the potentially mutated DNA of its source sound.

There’s no point in banging your head against the wall, it’s this way for a reason, a good reason imho and you simply need to find how this works out best for you … the name and sound in a kit can be changed, it simply has nothing to do with a sound anymore besides its origin

The spool makes no difference, that’s just for sound locks or perhaps loading in sounds, but there will be no connection to a project pool or +Drive with the sole exception of soundlocks and those are not the track sound though the audible track ‘sounds’ can constitute exclusively a number of sound locks, the track sound is a separate entity as part of a kit

Fine. That doesn’t change the fact that it’d be nice to know the source sound bank and slot.
