Just like the AR mkII and A4 mkII ? Was it because it came out before the others ? I just think it’s a little weird as they’re supposed to be part of a trinity but don’t come with the same design.

They’re not. That’s a user generated concept.
The OT MK2 is just a refresh based on part availability and newer components being favoured. Engineering a newer chassis makes no sense. The MK2 analogs are both different from their predecessors, they use different firmwares unlike OTs.

my take on it is that their new buttons didn’t fit the previous layout on these devices since they’re larger so they had to remake the faceplate. but it still fits on OT.
i don’t think it’s because they got new firmware or filters
