Hello everybody,
I just bought an AK and started setting it up today. Worked finde in the beginning, got sound etc. But I could not record any MIDI-Notes via Ableton and the AK also would not play any of the MIDI notes from the clips. Also, wenn my Rytm and Pro 2 were connected and playing as well, the Rytm started to have some weird sound issues which I guess came from some clashings of the MIDI controls or so.
I then connected my AK via USB. Setted up the input / outputs in ableton etc. I still get sound when playing the AK. But now, when I hit the space bar to play the arrangement in Ableton, the AK starts playing random notes, which must be from some MIDI the AK is receiving via Ableton. I really have no clue how to solve this problem. Tried to switch channels in Ableton as well as changing the MIDI Routing settings in the AK…nothing really worked out. I hope there is anyone here who can help or also just show me how they connected their AK with Ableton Live 9 (which channels and settings on the AK itself etc.) I’ll attach pictures of my ports for you to have some more in depth information.

I think you’ve sort of dived in at the deep end here on day one!
I’d recommend spending at least a week messing around with the AK standalone or AK/AR together before hooking it up to Ableton (except maybe sending sync from the computer to AK/AR - which is pretty straightforward)
There are LOTS of midi options on the AK that are defaulted to on - like whether the knobs send midi continuous etc etc…These should all be switched to "INT’ only for simplicity to help troubleshoot your setup. I guess you need to resolve the auto channel between the boxes correctly too. Then ensure no channel clash with the Pro2 (Which I guess also sends all sorts of midi data by default)

I also found out the problem that the AK starts playing when I start my arrangement. All the sounds were set to sequence mode, so the space bar triggered the AK’s sequencer to play…that was the simple reason. I cleared the sequencer steps and by now everything works fine…I’ll see if I have any further problems with the MIDI controls in the future, but will definetely use your advices as well, thank you !
