Yes, I get some clicks with your waves. But it is not bothering me because I rarely use fast attack settings

Are you making them with Logic, or Ableton Live?

I was doing mine in a Live, and at first had some clicks, then they got much better when i turned off the Clip Fade settings which are on by default.

My WaldorfPulse/Minimoog chain doesn’t give me any noticeable clicks, and the waves zero into each other, so I can get some interesting wavetabley stuff going with longer spaces between start/stop.

So far I just used audacity. Probably try them on logic next as I’m starting to get the hang of logic these days.

i d like to make chains too some piano chords would be nice, i ll try to make a chain with all minor and another with major chords, i thought to sequence ableton’s grand piano in midi to have same lenghth and velocity and record the audio result, would it works?

Not sure if it’s the right topic for this. Someone said that single cycle waveforms should be on loop. How do I disable loop wen I am punching in trig notes? The loops goes on infinite regardless of trigs.

@benwadub, on those chords it was a little strange bc I was getting a mono signal but when I checked the file it was stereo (44.1). Maybe could you export files as mono 16/48 just to simplify things?

Are you guys making chains with a specific length/spacing between samples, or just doing whatever and placing samples one after the other? I made some random chains of NI’s 60’s drummers but the AR sample start/end isn’t very precise and sometimes I can’t get the exact start of the sample.

Yes. The slices must be the same length.
I drop samples into Ableton arranger, turn warp off on all samples. Then adjust BPM to shorten the overall time length of the chain.
You must make sure the last slice is the same length of all the other slices.
I’ll post a screen shot when I get to the studio tonight.

Yeah that’s not hard, and it’s what I do, but it’s still a bitch to get the perfect start time using the sample start/end…oh well.

How many slices are you using?

Rytm uses 120 slices, so 60, 30, 15, 12, 10, are best.
Octatrack uses 128, so 64, 32, 16, 8 are best.

I like the 30 length for Rytm myself, I find it easiest to manage on the Rytm, and it gives you plenty of hits in one file.

Here’s my screen shot of a 30 slice waveform prior to rendering in Ableton Live. These were MachineDrum Kicks. Notice the highlighted selection goes all the way to 31 (the end of 30).
Also, make sure to turn off “Create Fades on Clip Edges” in Live’s Record/Warp/Launch preferences, if using Ableton Live. (especially if you’re doing single cycle waveforms). Also make sure to not go over -3dB on the file, as Rytm will distort samples by default higher than -3dB.
