Water spill

I had my syntakt underneath the AC vent while moving some things in the house, looked over and it had a bunch of water droplets from the dripping AC (was hot that day)

Syntakt was unplugged so no worries there. Is there anything special I need to do to ensure everythings OK? im leaving it out in the sun for a couple days

You could take off the knobs and remove the top cover. Dry out the inside with an appropriate cloth by dabbing up moisture. I wouldn’t wipe anything.

Then, get a large Tupperware container or Ziploc bag and fill it with uncooked rice. Put the Syntakt inside with the rice and seal it for a few days.

Others might have guidance on a safe cloth to use for dabbing up the water.

I would use a dedicated desiccant like damprid. Much more effective than rice. You wouldn’t want it touching the device though, just in the same sealed container.

Don’t use rice. It doesn’t work. It’s just a very persistent myth.

If it’s only water, don’t operate it (obvs), let it dry, should be fine.

Rice still works if that’s all you have and the reason it gets suggested is because almost everyone has rice available.

Per the article, rice won’t prevent corrosion.

I was going to suggest this as well but wasn’t %100 sure. I’m not well-versed in electronics. I do seem to recall that for electronics, you want the %99 stuff as opposed to the %70 stuff you use to disinfect.

Someone else can back that up though.

I’d open it and let it dry too, eventually with some dry air fan if you have a gig soon !

I’m not confident in rice. I prefer “hot” dry air fan, not too close.

I dropped my smartphone in the sea, I had to fully rince it with water after removing battery and stuff. I dried it with hot air 12h. As new !
