I figured that you’d take note of that.

Imagine if it’s a wavetable-based drum machine. I have to admit, this is what I’ve wanted from Elektron for ages.
Yeah I didn’t realize that it was already multi part. I did know it could do 16 voices with the expansion board, though.
Also it appears the latest firmware added digital filters… so maybe just a digital only version at a lower price point?

The Waldorf ‘Dr No, I don’t need that second kidney’
Hopefully a more affordable and smaller version of the Iridium Core. Maybe even something bearing resemblance to the Streichfett in cost and form factor, but not being limited to its specific flavor of sound synthesis. I’d perhaps dream of a Rocket successor that has even a scaled down version of its wavetables in its other synths. Blofeld is kind of due a refresh perhaps, I’m not sure.
Wavetables Are Not Enough.
Yes, and you also get some new VCOs to do virtual analog for example. But the M is built on an old school platform and feels more like a passion project than anything else. The developer did everything to push the hardware further but it’s not really a good basis to create a new range of hardware. It’s a reminiscence to the old wavetable machines from Waldorf. I really didn’t enjoy the workflow and unless you used some of the older devices, it’s unlikely you’ll fall in love with it ![]()
Maybe the Kyra the next gen (done right)?
Sonicware CyDrums?
That’s what I was thinking too. Haha. Like I need more of them. My hands are full already.
Okay, these birds are properly creepy. I thought I was cool with poultry but apparently not.
New Stranger Things on the 26th, then this on the very next day. Disturbing, not gonna lie

not a bad move from Waldorf… they could strip a lot of different synths from the Iridium core engine
i still hope they make some sort of drum-synth like the RackAttack
Didn’t they basically abandon the Kyra and the M?
Delay lines are forever - multi delay
Compander Royale - esoteric compression box
SkyFlange - ultimate flanger
I’m about 90 percent sure it’s going to be a drum machine.
Whys that?
Rolf Wöhrmann, Waldorf’s main DSP and synth engine designer – now CEO – mentioned in a recent German synth and video podcast that they are working on a drum machine.
If they’re not developing several pieces of hardware in parallel, this drum machine is probably what the new announcement will turn out to be. But in the end, we’ll see for sure on November 27th.
