I don’t hate the form factor and design. kinda like they made a simpler and cuter microKorg. but I’d prefer the mK for the price difference and extra features. (also I already have one of those.)
Lol, personally speaking, this aesthetic methodology is making me retro-actively withdraw my appreciation for Wes Anderson movies.
To be more direct, this looks like a Wes Anderson synth
haha. but like, 20 years later?
Agree
This and the elektron models go together like pb and j
I love Vongon. I have three Vongon pedals. I’m not sure about this vis-a-vis a Microkorg, a Nymphes, or even a used Jupiter XM. I need to hear more “in context” and not just youtube noodling.
I love the look, but it’s a huge departure from the walnut and black plate looks of the Polyphrase and Ultrasheer.
Im sure you could attach wood end cheeks with the same wood as the pedals so there is harmony.
In a way, their pedals look more like synths than their synths do.
I loooooooove the grey of their envelope pedal. So much sexy “gris”.
I love the idea and I bet it feels amazing, but will wait for a different colorway with readable labels. I like that it has an editor, but prefer a screen. Even a simple indicator of numbers like the Mask-1 or Juno 106 is better than nothing.
Why do I get the feeling this should’ve had a no more than 199,- price tag?
They’re a boutique manufacturer, that’s likely not even remotely feasible.
I liked Paragraphs. The envelope was fun and creative, and it had the Prophet 5 filter and a nice drive as well. I thought that would make a great beginning of a synth. So it is an interesting choice that they went all digital with this synth, and made it kind of bland overall leaning more heavily on stylistic choices.
The Pricing on this seems to run parallel with the reaction of the OP-1 pricing. After a while people stopped talking about the price.
People keep saying that but is it really true?
I need to get the jack on mine fixed. I love triggering it via midi from my digitone. Really adds a great movement to the synth.
It’s because you aren’t familiar with manufacturing and the economies of scale. Plus nobody knows how many units Vongon or TE has made.
For sure. I hit them up once requesting a stereo version. They said they were working on it, but that was a few years ago, so I’m not holding my breath.
I read the text on my synth’s cases only once and then never again
Video from Sarah Belle Reid (I liked 2:27, and 17:04 is berlin schoolesque …)
Dude, stereo version would be sick. Maybe I should just buy one more.
