Volume very low on my Digitakt : ( so sad (SOLVED)

How are you monitoring the levels of the DT? How are you monitoring the levels of your gear that receive midi from the DT?

Without any of this info, it’s just a wild goose chase.

here you can see my source page settings

and here is my audio setting

What are the physical input settings on the Scarlett?

so i’ve enabled/disabled the over bridge mode it did not make any difference. At this I think the issue is maybe coming from a setting in Logic.

post a photo of your green and then your purple mute settings
post a photo of your filter page

Is the output cables connected to the right outputs on the back? Looks like one could be connected to the left input.

thought the same

Forget about the computer for a moment, but check the main level with the sampling menu on the Digitakt.

Let the device play something. Press [SAMPLING] (“Direct” is written below it) to access the sampling menu. Use the G knob to change the source to INT L, INT R or to INT L+R and look at the bar at the top which is a kind of level meter.

If level meter shows a very low volume, I suggest to make a new project, just lay down a few trigs on various tracks (don’t modify anything else) and test again. This way you know that you haven’t screwed up some settings somewhere, but are testing with the defaults.

Aarh yeah looks like you only have one output going on. You might only get half the volume then. I really think that you want your stereo information from the Digitakt. You both have stereo reverb, stereo/pingpong delay and panning. You can achieve some quite nice spacing with this machine, even though it’s “just” a mono sampler

yes yes they are in the outputs L and R (the image give a weird perspective looking like its in input L got me trippin’ as well)

…i got my dtakt hardwired to the inputs of my dtone…

…and, er, i can’t dare to push the dtone inputs more than to 30, otherwise i overblow the signalfull on…so, whatever the issue is here, the takt shoud’nt be the problem…
and, er, again…there is no loudness whatsoever factor in midi…and never will be…start from scratch…

yeaaa its a weird effect from the perspective on the picutre, but they are both in the left and right outputs worry not! (got me tripping a bit as well)

I’ve had low volume problems with the headphone output on the DT which I have put down to a faulty cable.

THANKKKKK YOOOOUUU

I did ad you said, the source in the sampling menu was only coming from L and the volume was very low.

I made a new project and changed it to L+R and now its loud and nice! thank you so much for the help I could’ve never navigated there myself :DDD

Unless you are sampling the source setting has nothing to do with your original problem. It was just meant as a way to measure the output level without the computer involved (INT == main out),

I guess you have screwed up some parameter(s) on the compressor page or so ([FUNC] + [LFO]), because the other volume settings are quite obvious.

So the problem was too low volume/only one channel on recorded samples ? I was going to ask earlier is this happening on the factory samples too, but just assumed it was…

I FOUND THE PROBLEM!!! I had the same exact issue. Turn outs that some midi messages mess with the trig velocity. So if you go to the trig page, you will see that velocity is near 0 that’s why it is extremely low in volume! When you try to reload pattern or anything that resets the velocity back to max it should work. Obviously if you know that’s the problem, no need to reload, just put the velocity back up.

And here is the source for your problem:
Logic wants to set back some controllers to there initial state when shutting down.
On of those is Foot Control CC4 - and CC4 is mapped to velocity in the Digitakt:
In Logic uncheck this:
Main menu \ Settings \ MIDI \ Reset Messages \ “Control 4 (Foot Control) to zero”

I had the same issue and it was the trig velocity!
