I have a problem where, when I record the SRC3: Main the recording volume is low. I have set it up like this:
An Er-1 drum machine is playing in a Thru machine on T7. When I record SRC3: T7, turn off the volume completely on the drum machine and listen to the recording, the volume is exactly the same as what I am hearing from my speakers. So that’s perfect! That’s what I want.
But as said, when I turn on the drum machine again and try to record SRC3: Main instead of SRC3: T7, the sample I just recorded gets played back with lower volume. I can go in and boost the volume in the amp-page to +63, and that almost solves it, but still I can hear that it is lower volume than my drum machine playing by itself in the thru machine.
So: does anyone know how I can record the main outputs at the same volume as I’m hearing them in my speakers prior to recording?
I went into the Mixer page and set the Main Out to +0. After that the volume of the recording when set to SRC3: Main was the same!
So now then there is a new problem:
How will I control my general, overall volume? (I don’t want to have a mixer which I plug the OT into.)
I use T8 as a master track. The volume on the master track right now is at 127, i.e. max.
If I want to have louder volume now, how will I do since I can’t turn up the Main Out in the mixer page (because then the SRC3: Main recording will be than what I am hearing, and I can’t turn up the volume in the T8 Master track (because it is already at max)?
Ok, so I lowered the volume of my synths, and now I can adjust the level in the master track to control the volume. So that works fine now.
But now again when I record the SRC3: Main the volume is lower than what I am hearing when just running the ER-1 drum machine in the OT thru machine. So it seems I am back on square one again. (Again when I am recording T7 directly instead of the Main the volume is exactly the same.)
This is so weird. Hopefully I will figure this out soon, and this thread/log can maybe serve to help someone else…
If anyone reading this can see what I am doing wrong, I’d be so grateful for any help.
