When I start looping, I tend to turn the track volumes down a lot, and I end up with a huge gap between the volume of my loop and the volume of the sample preview in the drive. The latter is way too loud, and it becomes impossible to hear if the samples sound good with the loop.
Do you know if it’s possible to adjust the volume of the sample playback in the drive?
Hello! I’m pretty sure this was asked and answered earlier (about the DN but the same thing):
It’s not currently possible to control the volume of the preview. Perhaps it would be wise to ensure you are playing your tracks louder so the preview doesn’t seem so loud in comparison.
The sample preview is as loud as the track level of the track that is selected while previewing the sample. So just turn down the track level of the selected track.
Yes with samples of the sound pool but not with samples of the drive!
So, I just have to select my sounds and load them into the sound pool, it’s ok but a little more limiting to search for new samples which match with the loop.
For my part, I select a track, lower the volume, then I press func + samples, enter the drive, and scroll through the samples.
When I do this, the volume of the samples doesn’t match the volume of the track…
Basically, I wanted to change the volume of samples when I access the drive outside of the project.
So I could search for new samples that aren’t in the sound pool.
I understood that the volume of the tracks only affects the samples loaded in the project, that’s why I was looking for a way to lower the volume of the drive sounds (outside the project).
i do it like this:
select track, lower volume, go to SRC, SAMP (encoder D), choose slot, YES (for empty slot) / FUNC + YES (to overwrite used slot), enter keyboard mode, select sample from +drive by pressing YES and then TRIG 9 (C5 on they keyboard).
this way you even can quickly try out other notes too, and preview with a prepared effect chain, filter setup or whatever you like. cons to this are that you cant change the keyboard octave when browsing the +drive, which means you always have to make sure you are in the right octave before you go there and you cant load up multiple samples at the same time, just one to the selected sample slot.
