Volume automation

I’m new with syntakt. How the best way of doing volume (or other parameters) automation? Without live recording mode.

LFOs of course.

Also parameter locks. Hold a trig you wish to have a different value, turn the relevent knob. You’ll see the picture of the knob on the acreen gains a white background to show the param is locked for that teig.

Syntakt

what if you what to have a continous decline of volume.

You’re SOL because Elektron doesn’t want the Syntakt to have the ability to do Parameter Slides. Elektron recommends using supplemental sequencers sequencing their sequencer in order to achieve smooth automation without having to use up LFOs. I created a thread to express my frustration:

You’ll need an LFO for that.

You can control when an LFO starts, and how fast it ramps. I’m away from my gear at the moment so I’ll mess up trying to explain it correctly. Roughly you set an LFO to start on the first trig you wish the automation to begin, have it cycle half, or once, or per trig… then ensure it does no retrigger for the rest of the pattern. Set a speed and shape that describes the change you want to hear.

I test a noise raiser… by the way i have an octatrack. One question: what is SOL?

i got it more or less. How to control retrigger lfo?

SOL is an acronym for Shit Out of Luck.

ok

I’m gonna get the details wrong…

The TRIG page (first on the left under the knobs) has an LFO entry. Hold a trig and lock this LFO param on or off. On means trigger, off means don’t. If you set it off, without holing a trig, then it’s the default for all trigs on that track in that pattern (which is what you want for the slow fade). Set it ON just for the trig at the start of the ramp.
