Virus TI2 and RYTM/FOUR MK2 USB/Audio problems

Hi ,

hope someone can help and explain to me why I cant get this sorted.

I just bought a Virus TI2 and connected it via USB to my Studio ONE DAW. I also got A RYTM MK2 and a Four MK2. When I play a note ( press a Pad ) on my RYTM, the sound comes out on my Mixer on the channel for the Rytm, But also on the Virus channel. So I get a double audio signal. ( But only if the Virus is set as sounddevice )
If I set me audio settings to " Windows Audio ", the Virus is still playable from my DAW. Notes in the sequenzer get played, but then I have the problem with the RYTM that it doesn’t play a sound when I press a drum pad in the Overbridge plug in. I can twist knobs on the RYTM, and I can see it in overbridge, or use the Overbridge to play with the sound settings and the RYTM reacts to it. I press Pads on the RYTM itself and I can hear the sound coming thru my mixer, but the daw doesn’t send a signal to the RYTM.

I haven’t connected my RYTM or Four via midi because I only have a small midi router ( Motu Micro Lite )
So I thought I run the Virus, RYTM and FOUR over USB, and the Monologue, xoxbox, Blofeld and MPC X via MIDI ports.

Any ideas what I do wrong or can do?

I hope someone understands my wired English. Still learning.

sounds like a software routing problem. we need more detailed information of you setup and how things are connected… audio and midi routings… do you have an external mixer or software mixer? audio interface or audio via usb ovebridge only?

if you use ryrm or virus as main audio device, it is common to have double signals… this is where software routing comes in… maybe search for this also…

my motu midi router sends midi to monologue/MPC/blofeld and xoxbox. all instruments are connected to an external mixer.

analog Rytm/four and Virus TI are connected via usb and have there audio outs routed to the mixer as well.

all my instruments have there own channel on my mixer.

My pc has an sound on board card. But not connected to the mixer.

haete mal vorher in dein profil schauen sollen, haette dann bemerkt das du in Deutschland wohnst, lol … Wohne selber in australien, bin aber deutscher. Hab immer noch das problem das ich das routing nicht richtig hinbekomme. Naja, werd mal zu bett gehen und mir morgen nochmal den kop[f darueber zerbrechen. Falls ich nix geregelt become, dann werde ich wohl oder uebel auf overdrive verzichten muessen und mein letzten midi port mit der Rytm und Four in chain nuetzen muessen. Midi port 5 - ch 1-12 ( Rytm ) ch13-16 ( Four )

Dein Setup kling irgendwie merkwürdig - was nutzt Du denn als Main-Audiointerface? Den Mixer?
Was ist das für einer, bzw. welche Schnittstelle stellt der Studio One zur Verfügung?

Sowohl der TI2 als auch die Elektron-Kisten routen Audio über USB(VST) in die DAW und von dort aus
meist als Stereosumme (digital return) auf den Mixer. Das Monitoring über den Mixer ist dann nicht mehr als Einzel(Stereo)kanal auszumachen, sondern einzig und allein über das Plugin in der DAW.

Eine andere Baustelle ist das MIDI-Routing, da primär die Einstellung jeder einzelnen Elektron-Kiste, Du kannst jeden Trig, jedes Pad, alles, intern-extern routen. Für die Grundeinstellung würde ich empfehlen, zuerst einen Port zu nutzen, zB den MIDI. Und zunächst nur eine Gruppe, z.B. die Trigs, um dann zu sehen, was am Motu ankommt. Dort würde ich als erstes alle Routinglanes ausschalten, so dass definitiv nur ein Signal an einem Port ankommt. Es bietet die das MIDI-Out an, also Trig auf intern und extern setzen. Mit dem Programm ‘MIDI-Monitor’ guckst Du, welches Signal auf welchem Kanal vom (zB) Rytm gesendet wird und was das Motu draus macht.

Den Vorgang musst Du für jedes einzelne Gerät wiederholen, am besten für jedes einen eigenen MIDI-Kanal benutzen. Wenn alles vom Grundsätzlichen her stimmt, kümmerst Du Dich um Clock und Sync, also wer von wo das Start-Stop bekommt und die Clock, wer Master und wer Slave sein soll. Entsprechende Transport receive müssen dann noch ein- oder ausgeschaltet werden.

Ich habe ein ähnliches Setup, meine DAW synced nur den DT über USB (Start/Stop), der ist wiederum Master für alle anderen Kisten, die über DIN-Port-MIDI am Mio10 laufen. Clock kommt von extern (REM).

Das Setup ist echt tricky, aber wenn es läuft, hat es ein optimales Timing und ideales Audio-Routing.
