Hi, I’m having a bit of problem with the Virus TI auto learning the midi CC. Not sure what I’m doing wrong…
I tried the same thing with a novation bass station and the auto learn worked just fine.
I don’t have any problem inputting midi data, and can sequence multiple channels simultaneously, but for some reason it won’t learn the CC.
Any advice?
Do you mean that you’re having a problem with the Octatrack auto-learning the MIDI CC from the Virus? If so, is your Virus set up to send MIDI CC instead of SysEx?
Yeah that’s the problem. Which settings on the virus make it send Midi CC instead of SysEx? I’ve ran through them but can’t really figure it out (I’ve not had the Virus long). At the moment, the Virus global channel is set to 16, the midi deice ID is set to omni and the octatrack autochannel is set to 16.
I don’t have a Virus but, in the Virus TI reference manual, under CONFIG > Global Soft Knob settings, there is a setting called Knob Target that controls whether knob data is sent via MIDI.
Hi Peter, thanks for your help. I looked at the setting for the knob behavior, it doesn’t seem to work with either internal+midi or midi only settings. Could there be anything else that I’m missing?
I should add that I can set the octatrack CC manually and then it controls for the virus, I just can’t get the octatrack to listen for midi cc using the learn function (which would be a ton easier).
