Viewing the contents of an Elektron Sysex file?

I had an A4, which I no longer own. I made a soundpack with 96 presets in it but I can’t remember the names or anything of them. Is there a way to view them without a machine? I am able to use BorgLibrarian, for example, to view the contents of my Access Virus C’s sysex banks. Does anything exist like that for Elektron files?

No, you would need to unpack and decode the sysex

A4 Sysex Decoding (DONE!)

Hey yo, I decoded the A4 patch sysex to create a generator. It is working quite well, I am able to generate patches with a custom Processing script. The generator is super rudimentary and not ready to share. But so far I want to release the sysex specs… Probably incomplete, but enough to create a working generator. I am using the default sound patch as file template, load it and just change the values I want. PDF attached. [EDIT]: I removed the PDF… Please check the git repo.

You can read the names just by opening each file in a regular text editor.

SySex files are hex encoded and can be openend with any hex editor. A text editor should reveal the names too, that’s right.
