Hi Guys, I made a little video showing how you can clock your eurorack modular with the RYTM.
You have to sacrifice an output (no biggie for me) and turn off the main output from going out the mains, add a little bump on the filter and you’re set!
NB: I used the pulse sample from Make Noise and the link is provided in my video

Ahh very nice, glad it picks up the pulse ok, I wish I had a Metropolis! I’m saving for the new Tiptop drum seq though, it is expensive however.
You should have shown it with some audio! Thanks for the link.
i got em synced via via din sync into a clock divider, will upload a vid tomorrow
I thought about audio, but then decided against it because it’d have to sync up audio with video and I wasn’t in the mood
hehehe
here’s vid i filmed on the weekend, din 24 out to 4ms qcd dividing by 6
I know this is an old(er) thread, but what cables did you use?
http://www.kentonuk.com/products/items/leads/kenton.shtml ?
Where did you get them?
i just made one, with a 2 foot midi cable and 6 inch euro cable
what is the white box in your setup??

it’s a monome aleph, running an awesome scene called an skitter (which is a cross-delayed speed-modulated position-cutting granular echo line to be precise), its processing the op-1, providing the delay and granular sounding, octave up pitch shifting
Yeah, I’ll do the same
1=start/stop
3=clock
2=ground
correct?

thats what i did…according to this tho we may have it wrong…
pretty sure you need a fully wired ‘midi’ cable to hack for DIN Sync purposes, i’m curious to hear if the euro gear starts you on the first pulse of the trig when it’s doing its division, thinking about making a divider, but i think it needs to be smarter than just filtering out 5 of 6 pulses, needs to follow start/stop signal too - darenager has made one for sale recently, but i fancy making one for the fun anyway since Elektron are plenty busy to be considering my longstanding request for a clock divider on the ‘DIN24’ out so it can clock modular/monotribe etc
i’m also going to nag them to consider routing a sped up metronome out the RS jack for when you are not using individual outs, would maybe need gain for some euro but will be fine for lots of purposes - better still a custom trig pattern metronome so it can be swung, needs to be tapped pre dist/comp
cable will be done tomorrow… will report back then!
You guys got the correct pin out.
This link has lots of good info: http://www.doepfer.de/faq/gen_faq.htm#Sync
Expert sleepers also make a cable: http://www.expert-sleepers.co.uk/accessories.html
I made my own with a male midi plug and two 1/8th inch ends.
I send DIN sync out of the RYTM to my tip top trigger riot. It works perfectly.
This Expert Sleeprs DJ-1000 cable looks like it might be just what I need to turn the forthcoming Roland Scooper module into a sync’d OT-style transition looper, coming off of Rytm’s Din Sync output.
Or would I also need a clock divider?
Thanks for the info!

You would need a clock divider to divide by 6 to get 16th notes. I would actually get Pamela’s workout, not much more than a good divider and far more useful! She takes in din sync in and puts out whatever clocks you need.
