I bought a Scarlett 2i2 (3rd) interface thinking I could easily record stereo videos on my android phone of improvised things i can’t really reproduce (presetless Moog patches). Scarlett does not have a power input, draws power from my phone, which it somehow even manages to do, but I can’t get stereo sound recorded with the video on my android phone (tried Open Camera which even has option for it) or even with audio only recorders there, just mono.
Stereo sound recording with video works on my ipad camera app and also I have the Apple camera usb adaptor solving the powering of Scarlett, but the camera of the ipad is pretty weak compared to my android phone, and its just easier to place a phone.
I hoped for something very simple that provides good video and audio quality at the same time and not requiring editing later (ie syncing video and audio, rendering, etc). What would you suggest? Buy an expensive iphone just for this with a decent camera? I had magical moments l cant reproduce that are lost in time like tears in the rain…
