Okay…. I decided to buy Vermona DRM-1 (trigger version)! It’s on its way from Thomann!
As for the Alpha Base, I will wait a few months to see how it goes with the MK2 version, and then I will decide whether I will buy it, and if so, then it will be exclusively through Thomann, so that at least I can have three years of peace of mind knowing that the warranty is insured.

Hello everyone again! Just wanted to share a quick update on the Vermona DRM‑1 after using it for a while.
I’ve been genuinely blown away by its sound, the depth, weight and tonal character feel unmatched among analog drum synths that i know of and have heard irl. You can dive deep into designing complex, layered sounding hits (8 parallel synths) that carry both the punch of a real kick/snare and complex analog richness full of character.
What amazes me is how effective it is when sampled into devices like my Octatrack and SP‑404. I imagine it would also shine with MPC or Digitakt workflows, but i don’t have those. Or especially when processed in a DAW; bc the sounds are deep and meaty you can sculpt them much further than you’d expect. Or maybe im totally wrong, maybe they’re simpler but just rounder in a way? Dunno. Anyway… I also have an Elektron Digitone 2 and a Syntakt, and while I love them for other purposes, DRM‑1 absolutely outclasses them in pure drum‑design quality. In direct A/B testing, analog Syntakt sounds almost like a toy next to DRM‑1, something I never expected to be that drastic! Shocking really! Digitone is a different story; it’s great for deliberately non‑analog textures and it shines there!
I still feel the pull of the Alpha Base, especially now that the MK2 version is out and I’m considering adding it to my setup. But for now, DRM‑1 certainly stays put, and Syntakt is very likely going up for sale. The only thing holding me back is bc it’s the e25 version of Syntakt and I really like how it looks. We’ll see.

Yes, the dingThing seems interesting but id still probably prefer the DRM-1 + DT combo (or +OT) bc it’s much more versatile, probably more flexible sound design, better sound processing after recording samples, easier sound stacking during sound design (upto 8 channels simultaneously vs 1 voice on ding), and the sequencer seems to be very basic on Ding, no near like Elektron’s so what’s the point trying. But that’s just IMO given my limited knowledge of what that ding even is.

From what I’ve heard in this video (it starts at the Sequencer infos), the Sequencer is far from basic. It may even be a little bit better than an Elektron.

Wow you’re right! Great news! Still id prefer it was a six voice synth with a sequencer but it would be huge

well I just picked up the Jomox AB MK2 recently and so far no issues and love how great it sounds? I am looking forward to more in the Vermona Drumding. I do have modular sequencers and a Hapax so depending on price of the drumding may just get the Vermona DRM-1. I like the Perfourmer analog synth as well.
Yeah I got the Mbase11. It can also be used as a bass synth.

I hadn’t thought about that… I like to think it’s too good of a deal. 
Fun fact - I have SonicState’s Mbase 11, the one used by Nick Batt in the old review.

I have heard the DRM1 has an issue with simultaneous midi triggering of different instruments. I read this recently on Modwiggler I think.
I be buying one to sample it rather than to perform on though.
AB is a monster, one of the best ever. It also sits in a mix with other gear with a minimum of fuss.
