V-Synth users?

Yeah I’ve had the XT for a couple of years now and one of the main reasons I bought it was the ”Daft Punk vocal trick”. I’ll never get tired of that, I’d like to get a VP-9000 to fill my rack of Roland curiosities and to get more hands on with VariPhrase. Paid 1100€ for mine, so yours was a steal.

Bought mine new, after my SH101. Now, the V is the oldest synth in my stable, and I left it unused for 16 years because I moved shortly after I bought it and kept it at my family home.

The zipper sound isn’t as bad critics might say. Interestingly, it really lends itself to being sampled onto other machines. It almost feels like a keytracked effect at that point. Some of the best synth patches on my Akai s5000 are just layered samples of V-Synth tones, themselves all made of multiple samples.

I’ve had an XT fot 6 years and I absolutely adore the variphase sound. It’s unique and interesting and every patch I’ve really spent time on is so flipping rewarding.
The D50 and vocal cards are really good too.
It’s probably the only Roland kit I’ve ever truly fallen in love with.
