Using the RYTM to sequence your modular?

Hello! I had the idea of sending a midi out from the RYTM to my Eurorack Modular to program some cool sequences and stuff…

So far i managed to get it so i send a pad to a midi channel and from the midi out plug it into my midi-cv box… i can play the synth using the drum pad (drum volumes turned down) in chromatic mode…

But here is my problem… when i try and record the sequence it doesnt play back? playing it live works fine but as soon as you try to sequence it doesnt seem to register!

Any ideas? this could be really fun if it works!

Analog four and the Analog RYTM can´t be use as a Midi sequencer for external Gear. Its sending Midi Notes but it won´t sequence.

For this you need some of the older ones. Like the octatrack, Monomachine, or the Machinedrum.

In my Oppinion it is a pity it does´t work.

EDIT - i was beaten to the reply by time I’d finished… :joy:

That’s cool it sends messages via the pads… Hints at possibilities to come maybe… But RYTM doesn’t send midi from its sequencer. Its one of the communities biggest gripes about the boxes since octa.

Yepp. but this would make the Octatrack nearby obsolete
except to the sample possibilities

@ Playrecords… sorry  was the first time I write at this forum. Thought I have to start one day

^ me not included in the communities biggest gripes comment. seems mostly new users that expect elektron’s to have every feature ever or els…

Tho midi sequencing on RYTM would make an A4/RYTM combo unrivalled IMO as a sequencing/synthesizer hub… if it isn’t already.

Ahhh… thats a shame! Would of loved to program some riffs and set that sweeeeeeet groove!

Not really willing to splash out for an older box… i’ll just stick to sending midi from the computer for now!

Off topic but can’t resist (I know I’m weak)… I was just looking at to some Elektra/Daredevil artwork from Bill Sienkiewitz and Frank Miller!.. And Elektra poped up on the board… :stuck_out_tongue:

Welcome to you Elektra!

PS : Who needs anything else but AR+A4+OT?
I know the exit… don’t bother… ----> [ ] :smiley:

Another useless comment from me… Don’t thank me, youre welcome! :imp:

I guess using an appropriate sample loaded into any of the tracks (and turning the synth voice down) you could use the individual outs to trigger sequencers (or other stuff) in your modular.

Welcome to you Elektra!

PS : Who needs anything else but AR+A4+OT?

thank you very much!
AR+A4+OT is really enough… but there is a lot of other good stuff around to have fun with!

He he yeah, I was just troll-faking fanboysim…
Saying : just stick to the trinity, no external midi to manage, no problem! ha ha :stuck_out_tongue:

Cheers

hehe… well the OT can be used to sequence the A4 and the AR

Get an a4 and use it’s cv capabilities to drive your modular. Then sell your midi to cv module on muffs. . or keep your setup and get an octatrack as others have said. Depends On The style of stuff you are making.
