Using Overbridge with existing audio interface

Hi,

I would like to use the Overbridge software, however I do not want to record via USB as I want to record into the preamps on my UAD Apollo.

Is this possible and if so how? I couldn’t seem to get it working before but perhaps im doing something wrong. This is in Ableton 9 BTW

thanks in advance!

Justin

bump… anybody?

Make sure your A4 is set to Overbridge mode.

Set up everything just as you would if you were recording without Overbridge.

Make a Midi Track, and drop the A4 plug in onto the track.
The plug in should receive audio, so you can mute that track since your capturing audio from the Apollo.

Open the A4 plug in, and either set the A4 to sync to Ableton, or not.

Should work just like that.

That said, OB is still very much in progress.
Depending on which OS your computers running, version of OB your using, and which OS your A4 is using, you will get wildly different results.

Before I was trying to use the current beta version of OB, the A4 would sometimes work, and sometimes not.

Great thanks ill give it a go. Yeah ive not been fully clear on it and its not always worked as expected. Without OB I setup as an external instrument and preview the audio direct from the UAD Console so I dont suffer latency, but its a bit more complex with OB!

cheers,

Justin
