Using Octatrack Song Mode to control Model:Samples

So I have all my patterns written on M:S and basically just want to use OT’s song mode instead of live jamming or just using pattern chaining – don’t want to add anything on the OT itself.

I just want to check if muting the midi tracks in song mode will mute the M:S tracks entirely or if it only mutes midi trigs being sent? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

This makes me realize I should always just midi control M:S with OT so I have the 3 extra LFOs and song mode.

Muting OT midi tracks in song mode won’t do anything to MS if there is nothing on OT midi tracks.
