Using Digitone as sound module only

This issue with the input keeps popping up every now and then on here for some users. I own two digitones and I have never had this issue nor the issue of the effects not working without a track playing a sound first. I keep my inputs set to 50 which is what I believe to be unity. My inputs and input effects work all the time, everytime.

It’s happening quite often with me and i’m afraid i can’t use the inputs , they are not trustable with this bug. The external sound simply won’t play until i touch the Digi’s volume knob

Any hints ?
