Using Digi's as an interface non stop

Hello all,
I am just wondering if can I use Digitakt as an audio interface (to connect my pc to the studio monitors) when I am not actually playing it. Is it safe to leave it open all day for example?
The other thing I am curious about, it seems that the screen saver does not kick in no matter how long I wait, am I missing something?
Thanks,

Are you sending out MIDI clock to the DT? That’ll prevent the screensaver from kicking in.

I don’t see any problems leaving it on. The main concern I would have is oled screen burn in effect. Try turning the knobs, maybe one of them is producing slight value changes? The dimmer should kick in 5m after idle and full off after 1hr.

Thank you for your reply. Oh yes it works, probably something was triggering DT.
Since the screen is turned off, I guess the only thing I would concern is the PCB in the long run.
Is anyone using it like that?

Is the DT’s screen saver effected by ghost triggering from sensitive encoders?

I would say yes, but only if the encoders are jumpy enough to actually change the value they control.

I wouldn’t worry about the PCB, it’s a quality product that should have no trouble running for many years. There is barely anything on there that would degrade much over time, except for maybe a couple capacitors.

I don’t think that was the reason. DT’s been connected to other gears, apps. I have waited like half an hour after the screen sleeps, it didn’t turn on.
It’s good to hear that! I was saved from looking for an audio interface for now.

Elektron is pretty decent. 1st things to fail would be screen and than perhaps ram? But since that wouldn’t be used you should be fine. My A4 mk1 could be well over 10 years by now (not 1st owner) and it has run for many hours on end. It’s its purpose!
