So I‘m close to uploading my new EP on Bandcamp and I‘m wondering whether there’s something I have to watch out for if I want seamless transition between tracks. It’s almost 30 minutes of a seamless recording, will it be played without interruptions when I slice it into 4-5 pieces in Ableton and upload these individual files?
I think it depends more on the player than the media. I’m pretty sure the Bandcamp player does not do gapless playback. ITune/Music can (I think you have to toggle it on).
You could always upload the continuous mix as an extra track?
Bummer! I guess I‘ll try it out with something else first and quickly pull the files after checking. If it doesn’t work, I‘ll have to decide what’s more important, individual tracks or seamless experience. It‘s intended to be listened to in one go, but who am I kidding, few people will do that.
Yes, you have to make it as an extra track, I do the same. Bandcamp player will always make short pauses. I also found that even the CD Players in cars these days make short pauses, which is just insane. So you never can be sure.
My last release was organised like this (the last track has actually the same name as the release making things a bit more complicated ) :
Thanks for the screenshot! This somehow makes @DoS‘ suggestion more attractive .
Since it’s not a physical format you can ignore that it’s twice the data
I first got online before ADSL rolled out in the UK. The internet is made of bleeping modems, frustrated family members and broken downloads.
I had a satellite dish for an internet connection that’s a little bit less slow than 56k dial-up in 2008 still, I belive. That was sh_t.
