Unexpected sequencer behaviour using offset in the Arranger

EDIT: Bug is already fixed OS update.

Using per track scale, I have:

T1 = 16/16 1x
T2 = 32/32 1x
Master = 32 1x

In Pattern mode all works as expected.

Now when I want to use the Arranger’s Offset and Length functions to play just the second half of that pattern a couple of times, weird things happens.

I set this pattern on a row on the Arranger to repeat 8 times, and then I set the offset to 16 and length to 16, doing this I expect that T1 will play from step 1 to 16 and T2 will play from step 17 to step 32, and keep looping 8 times.

Then after I press play, Track 2 plays perfect, it starts in step 17 and plays to step 32, then T2 starts over again from step 17. So far so good.

Track 1 plays perfect the first 16 steps, but then in step 17, instead of start over again it plays an extra step, then it start over but because of that extra step T1 gets out of synch with T2 by one step, then it keeps playing that way till 8 repetitions.

After T1 gets out of synch, triggers’s led for T1 blinks like this:

Real Step -> T1 Trigger Led
1 -> Pattern Page 2:4’s Led blinks
2 -> Trigger 1’s Led blinks
3 -> Trigger 2’s Led blinks

16 -> Trigger 15’s Led blinks

… and start over again.

Any idea?

Thanks!

Any idea?

dont know,maybe microtimed trig?

I’ll check this out if i can replicate.

I just dont understand the blinking scheme you wrote… sorry :zonked:

EDIT

same here…!

Looks weird indeed, more investigation needed OR TicketSupport.

Let’s wait more comparisons from others!

I did it already: Ticket support #4299

^ ok!
please, let me know when they answer, cheers!

I will!

hmm, this ticket is taking a while…

Sorry for the late reply. I can confirm the issue here. We are looking into
and will let you know when I have found out more.

Let’s wait now.

Me too! Oh god! The arranger needs serious fixing. Elektron? Anybody there?

There is currently no scheduled time frame on when this will be fixed. The OT have received very little development time the last year due to the new releases but it has not at all been forgotten.

Olle
Elektron

THANK you Olle, this is GOOD news for us Octatrack users ! Please oh PLEASE resume your updates for this gem of a device !!!

PUSH it to the next level !!!

I can understand no developments, but this is not un upgrade, is to fix something that is not working as expected. :frowning:

Wow, reply from an Elektron employee is a good sign, at least. I have all sorts of problems with the arranger as well, including this issue… Had to scrap using it with an external groovebox in my live set even. Adding my voice to those keeping the pressure on Elektron to upgrade this amazing machine!

Thank you so much for the reply, to know you guys are alive out there :slight_smile:

I think because it´s architecture, the OT will be replaced eventually with a new sampler with an architecture on the line of the new analog series.

Hope to be wrong but I don´t expect awesome updates in the line of the analog series like the “overbridge” etc. anyway, with the mysterious Elektron’s guys you never know! :stuck_out_tongue:

oh yeah… an analog sampler using BBD bucket brigade chips
i cant wait!

Anyway as I said before, I don´t expect big updates with new features but at least, Elektron´s guys must fix what is not working as expected.

I forgot to update this one.

Bug is already fixed!
