Unexpected (lack of) behavior from crossfader

A)
I’ll start by saying that my LCD-crossfader never glitches and always matches where I have the physical crossfader.

Master channel filter works as expected from the knobs.
Scene A (not muted) is set to 01, Scene B (also not muted) is set to 09
I’m adjusting the Master Track 08

When I set either Scene A or Scene B to affect a filter on Track 08 (the graphics inverse as expected) the crossfader does nothing. Nothing.

The LCD-crossfader still moves as expected. Double check Scenes by holding down the button - definitely set to affect the filter. Both Scene A and B are different (01 and 09) and I’m not trying to do something like open an already open filter.

B)
Now to add insult - at one point I had completly empty scenes - I could hold down either A or B button and not get any inverted graphics on the T08 filters. Yet magically the crossfader WAS affecting a filter.

So yeah… I’ve had a pretty good working relationship with with the Octatrack - everything makes sense and the unit acts as expected before this. If my issue was just A I would be more inclined to think that I just don’t have a grasp for the unit. When the crossfader was doing things that it shouldn’t be doing - I think I have a hardware issue.

So do I reload the firmware? I have 1.25B on the unit now.

Thanks for any suggestions.

After all that I think it’s because I was using the DIR input and the sequencer/T08 wasn’t set to play.
