Hi everyone
yesterday I noticed my Octatrack has lower gain on the left channel.
I haven’t used it for a few months, so I’m not sure why is this happening, or when it started. I’m sure iit’s not project-related, since I tried loading different ones; also the headphone output works just fine.
do any of you have this problem?
I’m on OS 1.25D
Create a new set + project.
Save.
Test.
Upgrade to latest firmware.
Test.
new set+project didn’t work
also, cue outs work fine… I’m looking for OS 1.25E, although it seems very likely it’s a hardware related problem
Maybe swap the left and right cables and see if it reverses to rule out cable problems…
yes I forgot to mention that - I tried different cables, going through a mixer, straightly through the soundcard… it’s definately coming from the Left channel
I would try an empty reset (save project before, you won’t lose anything) and if that doesn’t work sounds like hardware fault to me…
what do you mean by empty reset?
It’s in the early startup menu, hold function while power on. It wipes the active ram of the OT and puts you in a new fresh factory default state.
it’s been 6 days since I made a support ticket to ask for replacement parts… is this normal?
It was a four-day weekend in Sweden due to public holidays, so Elektron might have some catching up to do.
oh I wasn’t aware, thanks!
sorry to bump this thread, just wanted to check on other users who might have the same problem.
after months of waiting to recieve the replacement part (I live in Argentina, so I asked somebody from Spain to bring it over)
I sent it to a technician… only to learn that, unfortunately, they sent me a CUE output instead of MAIN out part. Ouch!
oh well…
I already contacted support, and they’re sending me the right part, it’s already on the mail.
I’ll keep this thread updated for future reference, once I change the part… fingers crossed is not a hardware problem and that solves it.
I seem to have the same issue - was this ever resolved?
not yet… I’m waiting for the replacement part, wich is in Spain and someone is bringing over to Argentina soon, I should have it here next week… then I’ll take it to a technician (who might be on vacations though, it’s summertime here) and I hope to all gods that solves it…
OK - good luck. Do you know what the part is?
well in my case it was the main output (balanced), left channel… it’s a single part, L+R
I asked elektron to send me the replacement part since it was still under warranty.
Have the same issue with main out on A4. Works fine with overbridge though so I haven’t bothered to fix it. Should do it…
hey, sorry to bump this but… did you ever find a solution for this problem? I still haven’t replaced the part
I sent it in for repair - so I don’t know what they replaced I’m afraid.
Oli
I’ve just noticed I have this problem with my new OT MK2
Tried all the cables etc
I’ll have to raise a ticket and send it off which will be another £40 postage. I’ve had a MD back twice under warranty and my Analog 4 is currently off for repair due to dodgy encoders.
I’ll have spent £160 in total after getting this fixed all due to bad quality control
