The language is tough. I meant “type” in a more abstract way but more people seem to be interpreting it to mean “midi message type” than “OT type of program change message”.
I think this is something I was trying to understand recently. Truly bonkers
Is there a way to send pattern change to a non elektron device (korg emx in my case) for each pattern, instead of for each part? Or someway to work it around. Thanks.
Welcome @Llanqay.
In the MIDI SYNC menu, you can activate Program Change Send.
Thnk you sezare56. Yes! I was trying but the problem that in emx has 4 banks of 64 patterns insted of 16 of 16, so at banc 9 patt 1 of OT it jumps back to A01 of emx. Is it possible to send program change on the arranger on each line?
No. Only 2 ways to send PCs :
- MIDI SYNC PC Send
- MIDI TRACKS with Parts changes.
So I suppose it requires Banks messages ? (CC00 or CC32).
MIDI wise, OT actually have 2 banks of 128 patterns.
- Banks A-H patterns send PC 1-128 (Bank message value 0)
- Banks I-P patterns send PC 1-128
(Bank message value 1)
I don’t remember which bank message is actually sent by OT (CC00 or CC32), so depending on EMX bank message, if they match, you may be able to have 2x64 banks in common (banks A-D and banks I-L)
Thanks very much! I managed to arrange the patterns of the emx around to fit them into the OT pc scheme. Using just the first 8 patterns on banks 1-8 and the 8 last patterns of the last 8 banks, leaving the rest empty. Also i’m sending pc to de virus snow, this time with the other message asigned by part, cause ill use one multi patch per part of the octa.
