Unconventional use of 303 sounds

303 for "non-Acid" music

The 303 and all its clones are standing for nothing but acid. I would be interested in how good they are for “normal” basslines. Without the squelchy resonance. E.g. I know Alessandro Cortini recorded Risveglio with a 303, which is an amazing record. Any opinions?
