UC33e in 2024 / Mapping the dinosaur

In the past I’ve seen Florian from bad gear use this controller pretty extensively. There are a couple of videos featuring midi set up and implementation using that controller with specific pieces of gear.

While there may or may not be anything useful in these (or some of his other) videos featuring the UC33e, he seems like a pretty reasonable guy and I’d bet if you reached out and briefly explained what you’re after, he might be willing to give you some thoughts.

Controlling DT with M Audio UC33E

Sorry didn’t get that. I thought you want to control your Digitakt directly with the UC33? Instead you want to control Ableton or your DT tracks in Ableton? Are you using Overbridge? Can you please explain a little more what you are after? Depending on what you want to control (DT directly or Audio Tracks in Ableton), you’d have to setup your UC33e differently. If you just want to control the track levels (track 1-8) of your Digitakt, you’d have to assign a unique midi channel to each track on…

UC-33e to control DT basics

I have both devices and have done this before. I’m not sure whether your question is “does it work?” Or “do you like it?” It works def, you’d assign a midi channel to each audio track and then map all the per channel functions you want on your UC33e accordingly. I’m not the biggest fan of the UC33e because of its feel and build quality, so my excitement about that combo is not so high, but if you like your UC33e you’ll like the combo
