Two ways of mute a track!

It can be a good idea to have two ways of track mute possible:
Function + Track = The track stops directly
Function + double click = The track fades out slowly

That would be nice.

What do you think?

would be pretty hard to define what’s a double-click or when it should be a quick on-off.

I always use a MIDI controller to drive 2 machines from a single control surface and recently I switched from using straight mutes to volume control

this is much useful in the OT since mutes are at audio level (not at the sequencer level as in the other elektron machines) and sadly the fx are pre-volume, so delay and reverb tails are cut when you mute

having both volumen faders and mute buttons works great since you can use one or another…the faders are very organic to make quick or slow changes,
and since you got 2 levels for each track you can set your maximun with one and just open the fader to the max to achieve different levels…no controller callibration required

hi,
good idea, which controller are you using for that?

any controller that can send CCs on multiple channels at the same time is ideal, since you can set each OT track to a different channel. I use a korg nanokontrol.

Devote a few scene parameters to fade tracks. You can also go the route rhizome mentioned for “mixer-board” and individual control.

I use the novation remote zero MKI…I find it more comfortable than a microkontrol or similar little controllers just for the size and physical layout of the controls

the novation´s editor is very easy to use and you can write names for the controls that are shown in the display
this is quite convenient for the first times you use it with a new set of controls, until you achieve some muscular memory and start to play with it without thinking about what are you doing

Yeep I got it, thx
