Looking to buy a new stand for my 2 Elektrons (AR + OT) - currently I have a stand that requires the units to be screwed in. For most purposes this is great, if I don’t need them to leave the studio.
However increasingly I’m finding that I’d like to take either unit home from my studio, or away on a trip with me, and to do so I have to unscrew a unit to be able to do this.
I’ve seen the MDR Volga stand which is great, and allows units to travel as a pair, or separately, fairly easily. However certain aspects of the design (bottom unit is always flat, brackets make dials less accessible) aren’t to my taste.
So I’m searching for a stand that I’ve seen on here before, but now can’t find, in which the units sit in a tray rather than screwed in as with my current stand.
Ideally I’d like the same very thin sides as on my current stand (as pictured) but without the need for either unit to be screwed in.
Could anyone link me to the stand that offers this functionality?
I have the same issue. I like to unplug my AR and bring it into the living room or to a friend’s place but it’s annoying to have to unscrew it every time. Quick release clamps would be perfect but I’m not sure where or how to buy them…
What I ended up doing was just not screwing the bottom box into the two tier stand and putting a cheap laptop stand under it to get it angled. The top box is stationary but I can pull the bottom one out no problem. Could just use a book if you don’t have an extra laptop stand. Works well enough for me.
That’s a good idea for a work around @Hokus - I’m still hoping that I can find a solution that will allow me to take either machine home/on a trip without much hassle.
The tray idea is as pictured here: (wish i could find the existing two tier stand that is exactly this but no luck!)
Perhaps someone could use an adapted design for the Elektron boxes. Sorry this isn’t a direct/immediate solution for you, but I think the form factor is really handy.
I’ve got two of these bought recently. Really impressed with them, very heavy and solid and it’s great to be able to take one machine out easily for travel or just jamming away from the main setup.
a friend made these for me - 3D printed and custom-made for my needs
they get attached to the sides of my A4, while my Octatrack rests on the table - but with enough height so the cables can run below the A4… no screws, easiest removal
