Looking at the printed labels (delay, reverb, compressor), the lack of chorus is a real concern for me, be it pads or percussion. I‘d gladly exchange a compressor for a chorus send, so maybe that is a way.
Personally, I cannot foresee a reason why a chorus can’t get squeezed in.
Especially since Alex isn’t running an Elektron type business with lots of similar devices that each need to justify their existence by coming with features you won’t find in the other devices.
Hopefully he’ll hear our prayers and add a chorus send if there’s enough overhead. ![]()
Yeah, maybe this. been at synths for a long while, so maybe I just ignored that bit but many manuals are half as detailed at best, and the technical style helped me getting an obverview what this thing can do pretty quickly.
So who pre ordered this thing ?
Im just curious.
I did. I misread the page, thinking the introductory offer ended on 13th oct rather than november. I was like oh sh1t gotta order by midnight ![]()
Ha ! Me too , I read the 13 OCT too
so it took me about 1h to think about it and press the order button.
Edit : Just checked on https://web.archive.org/ and it was indeed 13 nov
Another unit pre-ordered here. I’m reading the manual and it seems a very deep machine. And twisted electrons has improved so so much blast beats with firmware updates that probably this FlexFM will have some good firmwares.
not even mentioned in the website, but confirmed by Alex that there is a poly-carbonate shell included in the deal. So the joystick is secured as it protrudes a bit the case.
I agree probably a chorus could be added as an update.
If not though, you do have 8 individual outputs and multi track usb audio into the daw to apply and process fx all you want. I know not exactly the same if youare p locking effects and whatnot but still quite flexible.
How is possible to pre-order à quite expansive instrument with no song demo anywhere…?
It’s look very interesting and powerful but I can’t buy a synth if I have no idea about the sound…
I’d also love to see integrated chorus, I don’t see a way to EQ parts and 16 patterns doesn’t seem much for doing longer set. Mono input, so no mixing in stereo synths or send fx returns and 8 voices will be a limiting factor. At least it can do chords and paraphony using operators, but I don’t see a way to pan operators for stereo image.
On the other hand, possibilities with operators, filters and those morphing and performance features might be the most interesting stuff I’ve ever seen on any groovebox. And it comes with integrated “outbox8”, so expanding it with effects or external mixer shouldn’t be an issue. Can’t wait for demos!
Btw., I also like the retro futuristic look ![]()
And the joystick!!
I did🥳
Doesn‘t work for me, I put varying amounts of chours (or whatever makes something wide) on most of my tracks (e.g. staging percussion), so it would be like already a mixer with 6 inputs and a pedal needed.
However, the reverb and delay parameters make those look extremely tasty.
Did you find a good chorus pedal? I remember you were looking for one, i might be on the hunt as well
The tc electronics june-60 (which I‘ve used in my outbox vid) is real stereo and 49 Euros. Can‘t do wrong with that one, it‘s the Juno chorus
(What I was looking for was the Alpha Juno chorus, very different use case, very extreme
)
Thank you
i did
I decided beforehand so took me only 30 seconds to order, just skimmed the manual shortly.
I’ve been checking the manual and I can’t find anything about the 13 secs sample pool. It would be weird to have 32 GB of internal storage and a sample pool of 13 secs for project. I think it would be a very bad decision.
What I’ve heard in the videos is that you can record iirc samples of 19 sec. max or something like that.
Can you tell where this information is? Thanks!
