Hello everyone!
Here’s my latest Elektron Monomachine track. Basically, one track was used for percussion, the other for melody (which was sent to my Eventide Space). Hope you enjoy!

Very nice, as always, acemonvw. I like how much effort you put in detail and melodies in all your tracks.
BTW, you don´t have soundcloud, do you?
Three listens in, and I’m still discovering new parts to enjoy. Great track.
Thanks tonfarben! I’d actually been working on another track for months, but kept getting frustrated. I think I wrote this in two days. It’s funny how much work you can put into one thing and have nothing to show for it, but then another idea comes along, takes no time at all and you’re happy with it. Eh, maybe I can finish that first track now…
And yes, I have a soundcloud page, but I don’t update it as often I will though, at some point!
And thank you dubathonic! I’ve listened to this track too many times while making it that I am only finding the things I don’t like about it right now, lol. I’ll have to step back and not listen for a few days!
Take care
Very good
By the way, are you using a midi keyboard to play/record notes/melodies?
Or are you using the step keys?
Hi Astrolab,
Thank you!
I don’t use a midi keyboard to play/record the notes or melodies. I strictly use the step keys for all of that. Most of what I do is holding down the step and finding the right notes. With simpler parts, I do the live-recording function.
Hope that helps!
Outstanding! I love the build up before you finally drop in the kick drum.
Thanks I have recently been working on another track, where I use the standard drum kits from the monomachine, but also brought it a long-decay drum kick with a lot of bass. I think I’m using the SID machine for that. I really like my monomachines. If I didn’t have and love my Spectralis, I’d say this is the best groovebox. I’m sad that neither of my machines have the +drive on them, that’d be at least $600 to add it to both of them
That’s just because when i don’t hook a midi keyboard to my MNM, I don’t play the same; I mean, that’s a totally different mood, depending if I’m playing with the keys of the MNM or with a midi keyboard. I have quite no inspiration with the MNM Keys :-/
Your tracks are f******g great AND musical.

Thanks! I agree. I write totally different music I think when I use a keyboard or just the step keys. I think for me, most of this is because I stick to certain keys (like specific scales, even if only subconsciously), whereas when I use the step keys it’s like searching for the right note to go with another each time, and I build up to something I definitely wouldn’t have if I used the keyboard.
My fiancee laughed pretty hard when she heard me in the other room creating this track because it sounded like I was one of those people in movies where the actor says, “I’m really good with computers” and mashes a bunch of incoherent keys on the keyboard. That’s exactly what it sounds like when you write music using the MNM keys, lol.
Thanks again
skilled track! … really like the glitchy repeated dums … any recipe for me to recreate this ?
I like your tracks, this one is special, as that is my dream duo - just one MnM is not enough.
Thanks
Glitchy drums in this were two different things. One is using BBOX and messing with those two bottom parameters in the first window… I can’t remember what they’re called at the moment, but it basically just repeats the note multiple times and you can adjust the time in which it does it.
The second thing is to turn on and off Arps on those tracks.
Hope that helps!

Thanks Rady!
I agree. 2 MNM is the best. The reason I thought to do this was that I was sad that the Rytm was coming out and all I had was a broken (or at least ocassionally working) MNM and one working one. I thought a good idea would be to try making drums with the other MNM. It’s fun. I sort of wish there were some better drum samples, but they’re pretty good!
Thanks
