TVSL #1: Wavefinder

Most recent addition, the Wavetable can do FM and @sezare56 showed if needed that imagination is the limit…

Go wild, or drone/ambient…
Surf the wave or cook it with layers of distorsions and filter to mess with the harmonics, find ways that were not meant to be played.

Explore and have fun!

yes thanks for firing this up @LyingDalai

I’ll definitely be getting involved!

Very quick attempt, making use of my TV before I have to send it away for encoder repair (sniff).

A single Wavefinder track, 30bpm, sample and hold animation, using wavetables that are I believe from @Jeanne

Slow LFOs on FX parameters.

Stymied only by the 6m06 onboard recording time.

P.S. Fadeout added in Audacity to save the sensibilities of @LyingDalai - I always lose track of the TV recording time while live tweaking.

What do you mean by that ?
We can use FM wavetables, but no FM AFAIK, except lfos pitch…did I missed something?
(Hydrasynth can do FM and wavetables modulating each other)

So I gave it a try, beware it is messy…

Lfos on pitch, drums wavetable resampled with TV.

Tonverks homemade wavetable from a sine wave, assigned to W1 and W2 modulating each other, plus lfos on tune and detune

does this work on the TV? does it really need to be this low/slow?

Should work if it matches Wavefinder specs. Default wavetable length is 2048, which correspond to 23.4375 Hz (48Khz).
Pretty low !

Length can be 64 128 256 512 1024 2048 4096 samples.

64 slices max. If there are more slices than 64, like 128, it picks every second slice.

Wavetable can be renamed (wavetable_wt1024.wav for instance) to specify or change length. You can add an “R” for RAW UPSAMPLING, it disables interpolation that can sound dull on lower frequencies, especially with 64 / 128 length…
Comparison at the beginning :

When loading a wavetable, 48 copies of the wavetable are created and loaded, for best quality (and less ram !).

@waftlord it sounds good. Now you can buy a Tonverk…:content:

First note is a C3. (C2 on OT / MD / MnM)

Did you make that soft ?
Does it morphs between drawn wavetables ?

Gonna try later. I recently tried Modbang Wave Gen. Limited but works well.

Previously WaveEdit and Audioterm, which is not user friendly !

yes, i’m interested in what you make of it. the new table mode and fold slider is how i made the one you loaded.

2 wavetables made with internal recording from a 23.4375 Hz sine, 1 bar pattern at 87.9 bpm.

W2 modulates W1

I made a track for this, but have ended up liking it a lot and want to use some parts for some musical output, so I’ll have to get back to making another for this!

Not so much science, just trying things. Random arp on 1 track of Wavefinder with W1 being modulated with S&H and W2 being modulated by W1. Then everything gets FM-ed by an LFO and LFO depth modulated. Going through a bus with Steelbox and too much compression :joy:

I think if Elektron ever adds velocity mod & key tracking this box will be unstoppable :+1:

Acidish wavetable made with Carvetoy
Already distorted, high resonance, no fx.

Here is the wavetable :

I tried to experiment a bit with a drum loop but maybe the length of it wasn’t optimal, because I didn’t get any of the timbrical characteristics of the loop.
Could you please tell me how many bars was the loop on the Drums FM example?

1 bar maybe but tempo is the most important:

Acidish cleaner wavetable + hard sync version…Filter Folder added.

Saw Reso Clean + Hard Sync x4

I don’t know what low pass filter type I used for the wavetable, but I combined it with a hi pass filter increasing with resonance in order to mimic 303 type filter.

several tracks of Wavefinder, such a nice addition to Tonverk.

some post EQ and that’s it.
