Tuning of analog synths (for bass, etc.)

I just found this thread which seems to answer my question…though not the answer I was hoping for

So, I’ve been having a go at using chromatic mode to get a bass out of the AR. First crack was to use the RimShot pad, set up a classic kick and turn off the frequency sweeps. A bit of over-drive and it works quite well. Using a high-pass filter chops the bottom off enough for my kick drum to not get swamped, although intuitively a high-pass filter on a bass feels wrong.
