hi guys… got the volca bass… love it sort of. … now came across the TT303 and would like to get this, because it has an input optoin …
but I am not really an acid kinda guy… so: can you make the volca style audio stuff with the TT303
I was trying to find a TT303 Demo without acid… nope
just looking for simple bass lines with some fuckery options, portable, battery powered … biggest plus would be an external input (does not need to go through filters)
SHIT: the TT has no bpm display …syncing would be a bitch
I had the bass bott, now actually selling one *end advertisement
I was weary at first about if it could only do that “acid” sound as well since I pretty much never use bass sounds like that, you’ll be really hard pressed to find a demo of the tb-303 or clones where people are not doing the acid thing on youtube, but the synth can definately do normal bass sounds, especially when you drop the resonance it has a much fuller tone.
I see it as a bit of a sh-101’s younger brother, sound wise they very much come from the same line of sound, and with both you can do the acid thing or you can get a decent normal bass with that warm “rubbery” tone people claim it to have.
i have xoxbox (another 303 clone) and volca bass and it doesn´t sound nearly the same! you can do really good bassed by turning the resonance down … but with a bit of resonance it will sounds like an acid hit Last weekend I had an openair gig and it was like 10degrees outside. Xoxbox had massive tuning problems … and the volca bass still worked fine. You can even play chords with the tuned osc on the volca.
If you wanna do some more than acid stuff, have a look for the acid8 … Dataline posted a pic some days ago and it seems he is really into it. It´s digital but you even can draw your own osc waves with an editor. For 300eur much cheaper than the tt. Maybe Cenk can do some sound demos?
