I asked ChatGPT to write a simple hook lyric to be used in a TripHop style track.
Used Udio.com to structure the lyrics and song and take inspiration from Portishead, The Cardigans, Tricky, UNKLE, DJ Shadow, Sneaker Pimps, Massive Attack etc.
Obviously there were many crap outputs but this was the version that stood out from the start and was steered towards this final version. When using udio you start by creating a short clip then extending it and telling the AI what to do next.
The vocal creation, phrasing of the lyrics, even the breaths are outstanding IMO.
And the only thing that really lets the track down is the muddiness of the percussion and some of the drums. Kinda sounds like MP3 compression.
It doesn’t sound like a computer has created this track, it almost has a heart and soul.
