Trigger sample locks with cross-fader?

Hi, this is probably going to come out a little confusing but I’m really wanting to know if something like this is possible…

basically… I’m wondering if there is a way to assign a particular sample playback to the fader position… let me give an example of what i’m trying to use it for…

say I have a track that is all triggers of closed hi hats… ideally, a fader movement could then change predetermined trigs to a samplelock of an open hi hat so that I could keep alternating between the closed and open sample on the same track… anyone know if this is possible?

Hmmm, not the ideal solution, but you could assign an LFO to modulate between two samples, say the closed and the open hi-hat. So if you only have two slices, assign the fader to full on LFO sample start on the left, and no LFO on the right. Since it would modulate between the two, you’d have a mix of both though, so probably not ideal.

Or you could just assign the crossfader to the STRT-function, have no p-locked slices, and fade between which slice were the default for that track. That should do the job, actually.

but no way to incorporate the sample locks? like I’d have to rerecord in a sample that had both open and closed hats in it?

make sample a chain with the 2 samples you want and use crossfader to change between slices.

You could make the sample chain on the OT by resampling . With the correct recording time , everything should line up correctly.
