Trigger buttons lighting issue

Hello, yesterday i bumped into this lightining buttons problem. The trigger buttons 11 12 and 13 are stuck with blue and white lights. As soon I press the buttons they lightened weird between them and I can’t even see the green light when using a triggering fx. I’m using the octatrack since many years and nothing never happened. If someone knows what’s going on and how I can fix it it would be very appreciated. thanks a lot!

Hi,

I think that it would be a good idea for you to check the functionality of the button lights using the keys test function of the startup menu. They can each display 3 colors, it sounds like one color might be damaged on those 3 trigs causing the weird lighting that you described.

If you’ve never done that before, turn off the OT, wait 30 seconds then hold down the func key and turn on the machine, it will load into the error test menu. Release the func key and proceed.

Select the option to run the error test, let it run. When it finishes, check to see if it says 0 errors or no errors found.

After it completes the error test, start pressing keys on the OT and they should display on the screen what you’re touching, it will do this if you turn encoders as well. This is the keys test.

If you hold down trig 1 or 2 the OLED screen will light up completely or go dark depending on which trig. That’s normal, it’s a test to check the display for dead pixels.

Trigs 3, 4, and 5 should make all buttons glow in the same color when you hold them down one at a time. Red, blue, or green.

When you hold down trig 3, then 4, then 5 (one at a time) check those problem trigs 11, 12, and 13 and see if they fail to change color with the other buttons in one of those colors (all the other buttons will glow the same color).

If this happens and one color is not glowing correctly for those trigs, your octatrack requires physical repair and you need to contact elektron support via the elektron.se site to check your warranty status and schedule a repair.

Good luck.
