I’m traveling soon from Dublin to Kathmandu via Abu Dhabi and i’m planning on bringing my Rytm with me in my hand luggage , but I’m a bit concerned about these new airport security checks, how you have to be able to power on all electrical devices to prove they are working properly or else you have to leave them behind or you or my not be allowed to fly. Fair enough for the things you can actually charge, but what about gear that doesn’t have a battery?
I think its mainly on flights to UK and USA, but I’m still a bit worried about taking it.
Anybody traveled by air lately with an Elektron box?
Yeah i traveled around last year with my A4 in my had luggage and i had no problem, they are quite sinister little boxes tho and will get well looked over a fair bit by security.
But i am specifically talking about air travel in the last few weeks since these new security checks came in.
I’m heading for a while and would love to have it with me, I’m hoping the Himalayas will give me some inspiration, so long as the Rytm’s low end doesn’t cause an avalanche.
There you go Elektron marketing dept., your boxes full of Explosive sounds get pulled aside at Airport security constantly and they could start a Himalayan Avalanche… Two ideas worthy of a YouTube right there.
I took my RYTM on a recent trip within the U.S. and lucked out by being selected as TSA Pre-Approved. They didn’t even have me take the RYTM out of my bag. I was shocked.
no worries at all. I’ve travelled with peli 1510 full of gear (two elektron boxes, PSUs, cameras, lenses and other stuff) without any single question from security check.
