I just wanted to share this, because I never read about this here:
Anybody else does this?
It´s very similar to the normal Transition Trick, I just use a Pickup Machine (PM).
The good thing is, if you change patterns afterwards, the PM will always keep playing, because it´s not affected by the change of the Part - the PM content stays the same in alle patterns and banks. also, you can easily delete the contet by just press REC CD two times, and re-record with REC AB. I use QREC 16, AB and CD to Zero. Instead I sample from “SRC3” set to CUE, so I can sample to the PM only the tracks I want to. (like transition trick)
I also use the Crossfader, Scene A with Max Vol on the PM, and all other tracks to Min Vol; Scene B the other way around, for nice crossfade.
I prefer this to using a flex.
Thoughts?

this is interesting, I’ll have to think about this approach… thanks for sharing…
Hi
been trying to do this myself just today, and my OT does NOT operate like you describe, my problem being, if I switch part, track parameters DO change…
So I set up the pickup track to the same settings in the different parts I use, but no luck, when switching parts, the pickup machine stops…
I don’t know where I did something wrong…
I’m happy to see it works for you, and I hope I’ll have it sorted out, any advice?
thanks a lot
Could be your silence tracks setting in the project menu under control and sequencer?

Yes it is,
I had the track set to “start silent” = ON
everything is smooth and reliable now and I’m happy to see the pickup machine is a great alternative to the “crossfader transition trick”. I use it only with an external sound source ( Pocket Operators and monotron delay) so I don’t have to crossfade anything,
the only “problem” is to have (to think) to mute the source if it still plays when the picked-up loop begins to play, but it’s just an habit to get
thanks & cheers
