Okay I just wasted 2 hours trying to do the transition trick. I’ve watched numerous debates about it. I sat with Tarekiths second video and followed to the letter and the result was bugger all.
Basically I want to record my modular then transition to the recording, repatch the modular and transition back.
I know there have been numerous topics on this, but I literally followed that video to the letter so I am completely mind blown as to what I might have missed?
I was trying the master one first then I tried cue (cue seems like the most useful option.
After all this time, you’d think I would have sorted the most basic of octatrack tricks.
Sorry mate in a bit of a dash but you could try this. It’s possibly a different method but I used it when the OT came out and it worked. Apologies if you have already seen it.
Thanks mate. Appreciated as always. I’ll try it in the morning. Kinda done my head in for today gonna take a breather for now. Been a while since I felt the OT frustration hehehe
I tried again this morning, first time it didn’t work second time it did. Got it working now. No idea why it wasn’t but for some reason the record buffer just wasn’t recording anything. Luckily its working now so I will delete the project and try again a few times until I can set it up without referring to a guide.
Was a bit embarrassing asking for help on this one. I’m supposed to be pretty good with an OT by now
you are =)
my sidenote:
I have OT for one year and a half, and some of its features that don’t get use too much can go farer in the operator memory (at least for me…
Nedavine i have same things happening to me. Its normal. the machine lets you know you are not the king of the world. Its all about relationship with the machine.
I use tarekith’s second transition trick all the time. Its the best for me.
Im happy that you figured out.
Well today I had a bit of time so after sanding down the little modular rack I made I made this rough video. The stabs are all transition trickiness. I set the playback pitch of the recordbuffer to +12 and also assigned some dark reverb to the crossfader and this was the result. Lots of fun.
