Transition Trick: Need your help - crossfading between A/B

Hi i have an issue with transition trick. Everything is set up with a Tarekith tutorial and working as expected. There is one problem - when i crossfade between A/B, (where A is a new pattern and B is recorded loop) the tracks from a new pattern gets pitched down and sounds very chaotic. It happens especially when crossfader is in the middle position between A/B scenes.

I have checked everything and can’t find a solution. It sounds really bad and this great trick gets useless…:frowning: I don’t believe it’s normal.

Please watch a video and help me find a way.

In the video i muted all the tracks from the new pattern (scene A) and leave just a drum loop to clarify the problem. Anyway it affects all the tracks as well.

Here is the link to the short video:

So:

TRACK 3 is playing a drum loop (the rest is muted)
TRACK 4 is a recorded loop

You can hear what is happening when i make a transition.

Sorry for the bad picture quality.

Thanks you in advance!

Jurek

For me it sounds like the Scene locks also the RATE parameter.

What have you assigned to the Scene loaded on B ?

ok, i have found that some tracks has a parameter locks on the scene B. i have deleted them and it’s like a problem was solved. anyway it’s still sounds not smooth cause i use a lot of different SLICE / SAMPLE START parameter locks on a tracks. i can’t delete them cause it’s make a variations o a sounds on tracks A.

when i choose a scene A that hasn’t any SLICE / SAMPLE START locked on the tracks - crossfading sounds smooth.

is that any solution for make it smooth but still have SLICE / SAMPLE START parameters locks?

thanks a lot for your input - it’s indeed what i have found yesterday’s night. tracks on scene B have some many old (not deleted) parameters locks. anyway please my further info…

after spending some time with that i think that when using crossfader for transition i can’t really use scenes for anything else at the same time - it will always get things moving all over the place (if assigned to other things) - that is probably the nature of that scene /crossfader thing. so probably i need to have one, particular scene A that doesn’t have any parameter locks at all and use it for a transition trick - and when it’s done use some other scenes with parameter locks for a further variations.

i would appreciate your help with a distortion issue cause i’m stack with it - its always the same part when it occurs and it doesn’t matters what loop i record.

Ok, i just have found it! On that particular PART there was a different EQ settings for TRACK4 and DIST was enabled, so the RECORDING4 sounded distorted here:) Uff! SOLVED.

Yeah!
