Except that the main purpose of the OT is to sample and play back samples. Having card storage for that makes a lot of sense.
The AR can play back samples. Installing a card reader just to make loading samples for playback is expensive* and then people will start asking for the ability to record and save their own samples.
The AR does have a built in +Drive, so once you get a bunch of samples loaded, you won’t need to worry about it much.
*expensive as in - takes up real estate on the circuit board and back panel and takes up code space dealing with the card, causes support calls for slow/bad cards, and bent pins,
