Ok I got it now. I think last time the Turbo didn’t kick in, no matter what I did. But now it’s in turbo mode and then it’s 10x faster. By USB2 standards, it’s not fast though. 12 seconds for a 200k file isn’t precisely top speed. But I guess because it’s over sysex, there are speed limitations?

The turbo was turned off again today, but restarting C6 turned it back on. Also, last time I sent a stereo file… I don’t know where the convertion takes place. Probably in C6? Perhaps that was also a turbo breaker?

Yeah I didn’t have the Turbo option prior either but now I can select it and it is MUCH faster. I just did a 1.7MB file pretty darn quick.

Then I tried it without and it was slower.

And I thought Turbo was only for a TM-1!

This is actually totally usable now.

sure some will disagree but I still don’t understand why they don’t do like the OT on all their units

having to hook up via USB is a pain…I’m working OTB, I want to be able to plug a card in (be it SD, CF whatever) and then go

I’d just prefer a larger internal. You have to hook up to a computer to get it onto the card anyway.

cards are small, and can be taken anywhere

having to hook up to a computer is not so easy when you are all OTB

quite easy to have a pocket full of samples on a small card though…have a buddy drop some samples onto your card, etc etc…

Except that the main purpose of the OT is to sample and play back samples. Having card storage for that makes a lot of sense.

The AR can play back samples. Installing a card reader just to make loading samples for playback is expensive* and then people will start asking for the ability to record and save their own samples.

The AR does have a built in +Drive, so once you get a bunch of samples loaded, you won’t need to worry about it much.

*expensive as in - takes up real estate on the circuit board and back panel and takes up code space dealing with the card, causes support calls for slow/bad cards, and bent pins,

for anything that uses samples I would gladly pay a little extra for the ability to use a card vs having to get a computer to plug into (the AR falls in this category)

heck, I would even prefer it on devices that don’t use samples i.e. the A4

in fact, if I want to dream a little, just give me an ethernet port on everything

I had the same issue and found out that the delay setting in C6 can make it really slow. Just set it to 0.

I only use my laptop to stock files, and backup projects
no mac, no ipad no strom , no DAW no ob

FFS I barely ever put new samples into the AR cos it’s such a pain in the ass,
and rarely backup either

Why oh why didnt they use the OT system?

Anyway sort it out, OB might be groundbreaking, but if I have to use some useless spectrum looking program
to transfer anything to my fancy .1.5k€ state of the art sampler it really pisses me off

Introducing Digitakt News

It is. A sample management application, making it easy to transfer samples from computer to Digitakt, will be available in April. It will also be compatible with the Rytm.

I don’t understand why everyone hates on the Rytm’s sample transfer.

(1) Select destination on Rytm
(2) Open C6
(3) Drag samples into C6
(4) Press send

What’s so difficult?

Works fine for me too, but it is very slow. C6 is also fine for me as it works on all boxes, could do with an update though.

It’s incredibly slow, looks horrible, and 9/10 doesnt even work, I’m on windows 10, click on C6, it doesnt open,
finally get it to open, it recognises AR, but midi out error message,
try again, now no error, but wont recieve anything
and yes I checked AR settings, it’s not on OB mode

it just doesnt go with A4/AK/AR
It probably looked outdated when it was first released with the MD 10 years ago

Something is up on your Windows install/machine then, C6 works fine here on multiple machines on both Rytm and A4.

However, yes, it’s time to have something more functional. Especially as we cannot just access things like Rytm samples as mass storage.
