Transferring Elektron samples to Digitakt II

Sorry for the noob question but i downloaded a few free sample packs from the Elektron website (Aotearoa, Drum enthusiast) and i am trying to transfer them to my DTII via the Transfer app, but i get an error message that the +Drive is full. which is not the case as the DTII is new and I have not transferred anything into it yet. I am running firmware 1.02.

Is there anything i need to do check in the settings? thank you

Did you update to the latest transfer as well?

Try moving just one file instead of doing a bulk transfer of all files and let us know if it still says that your +Drive is full or if it accepts the single file transfer.

If it still doesn’t accept the file I’d probably do as previously suggested and make sure the transfer app is up to date. I’d also do the most basic of things such as unplug the DTII from the computer, power cycle the digitakt, power cycle the computer, and add together the stated file sizes of the two sample packs so you know the exact amount of data you’re dealing with.

This is probably not relevant to your situation because it deals with the original DT and your samples came from the Elektron website, but just in case I would confirm the sample rate of the samples in the files you downloaded. I don’t have time to dig around the Elektron webstore right now to check, but if any of the packs you downloaded were actually formatted for a different device and have a different sample rate, transfer will convert the files to the compatible rate but it will cause them to inflate quite a bit in size as evidenced in this thread from a couple of years ago:

Hey, while uploading some samples of varying quality, I noticed that Elektron Transfer apparently “normalizes” sampling rate - I guess due to the Digitakt only being able to play back files with a specific sample rate? The device could hold so much more samples if only different sampling rates were supported. edit: in my head, if it’s converting mono to stereo and changing the sample rate in a batch process, the output might be quite large. Maybe not large enough to trigger that kind of “drive full” warning, but I just don’t know 100% so it’s at least something to consider.
