Transfer: Bug reports

I formatted my +Drive and did a factory reset. After this I was able to transfer 45000 files (2,5GB) in one go. My guess is that the latest Transfer is causing the problems and when the +Drive is corrupted, transferring and everything else becomes impossible due to crashes. Now I’m waiting this to be fixed before transferring more files.

I was also able to freeze Transfer and Digitakt II by doing something CPU intensive while the transfer was going. The Digitakt II was running during that test playing a 16th note pattern. The pattern slowed down, after which Digitakt II froze and Transfer froze as well. All I did was opening a browser with 50 tabs open.

Max speed is 0.32 MiB/s, which is indeed extremely slow: it would take almost 18 hours to transfer 20 GB of data

I have to say that I don’t like Transfer/ i would rather connect the device and transfer the samples like we can do on the Octatrack

I believe Transfer does more than uploading files. It also converts them to a format that is compatible with the DT.

Btw @dzyndzel were your files 48kHz/24bits .wav files?

My tests above were sending the already converted files from Digitakt to PC, then back to Digitakt. So my understanding is no conversion should be taking place. Also see: Digitakt 2 transfer speeds - #24 by garf

DT only plays back 48/24 so if you don’t want to convert the files, you won’t be able to play them back.

Well, you don’t have to use Transfer conversion.
I also take care of the conversion myself beforehand usually.

But let me know what tool you use to get your 44.1 kHz sound into 48 kHz?
Pretty sure Transfer uses ffmpeg in a way or another, anyway.
And I am sure many people wouldn’t tell the difference between either tool conversion.

I use an old version of Weiss Saracon

All the samples I have collected through the years are 44.1, only recently, in the last 2 years i have started to sample at 48.1kHz

But my main sample collection is mainly 44.1, and I would not want something like transfer to convert them at 48

I’m noticing that if I press play on the DT II while transferring files, DT II freezes. I could recover by turning DT II OFF and back ON, and force quitting Transfer (On OSX)

Oh yes, when you use DT2 while uploading, it kind of freeze.
From what I’ve seen, it recovers at some point, but it’s very slow.

So yeah: DO NOT TOUCH THE DT WHILE UPLOADING!

Since these oddly-behaving files were loaded onto the filesystem with Transfer, I guess this must be a transfer bug ?

Digitakt II 1.01A : Bug reports Digitakt

So I’m on SRC page, turn encoder D to choose sample, empty slot A034 chosen, pick sample ‘Skrewell - Kaleido’ - and look what happens! That can’t be right, surely ? [IMG_4977] This is a newly loaded sample pack (thank you @Claid) that had maybe 5-10% errors on loading onto the DT2. But no errors on those files that are listed. I recognized this too, while loading the megabig demo project that comes with it.
while the wheel is spinning dont touchy touchy.

I got an exception looking like excel on the screen. I rebooted and let it load, after that i loaded an empty project and it never happened again.

Don’t touch it if it’s loading. Its a mimose.

Hi. Wanted to add this here in addition to submitting a support ticket.

AR MK2 GRY (1.70) - Does not connect via transfer 1.8.6

I was transferring samples this morning using 1.6.7. First folder of samples transferred great. Second folder crashed. I checked the support site and noticed that there was a newer version (1.8.6).

I updated the transfer app using Mac Sonoma 14.4.1, hoping this was just a version issue. Tried transferring again using 1.8.6 and it no longer connects.

Checked the forum/post here and followed some of the suggestions.

AF MK2 GRY (1.51), DT (1.5), AHFX (1.01) connect great.
Connected with both the Overhub USB and USB to USBC adapter methods, using new cables.

@Riuozami You mentioned you had success transferring to your AR MK2.

Am I missing something here? Hopefully this info helps to find a solution.

Having said that i had connection issues with 1.70

I solved them by restarting the laptop

Good to know about 1.70. I just bought a used AR MK2, so I’m still new to the 1.70 updates.

Tried restarting my computer but no luck. Maybe it’s the unit itself? Not sure. I submitted a support ticket. I’ll follow up here with any updates.

I’ll keep following the thread for more suggestions. Thanks @Riuozami appreciate the quick response!
